You needn’t leave the campsite to spot some of the brilliant local wildlife. There are creatures to watch in the sky, on land and in the loch.
Here is a selection of creatures great and small to spot at Resipole:
• Red deer
• Pine marten
• Insects, including moths, butterflies and dragonflies
• Birds – tree pipit, wood warbler, willow warbler, cuckoo, wood pecker, house martin, swallow, raven
• Water birds – heron, oyster catcher, mallard, black-throated diver, red-breasted merganser, greylag goose
• Birds of prey – merlin, buzzard, golden eagle, sea eagle
For lichenologists, there are incredible lichens to be found at Resipole, some of them very rare. This is also a great place for horticulturalists and foragers.
Resipole is a fantastic starting point for a short stroll or a mountain ascension!
